What is Steps for STEM?
Steps for STEM is an after-school high school student-run nonprofit organization working to become a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We aim to offer STEM tutoring opportunities to guide middle/high school students underrepresented in their schools and realize our goal of equity in education.




Amanda Ng, Founder, Executive Director
Amanda is a sophomore at Stony Brook University with a goal of establishing equity in education by offering opportunities to those who may not have the benefits of attending a STEM-oriented school. She has a particular interest in computer science, statistics, and biology.
Elizabeth Lai
Elizabeth is a junior at Bronx Science who is passionate about creating a nurturing environment for students who are struggling in classes. She is interested in a career in the STEM field and would like to encourage other children about these subjects, starting with their schoolwork. She hopes that every student will have these resources to guide and expand their knowledge.
Suchona Dey
Suchona is a junior at The Bronx High School of Science and wishes to aid students who have difficulties in STEM-related courses and may not have access to better education. She has a special interest in STEM subjects and wishes to enter the healthcare field.
